The Town of Poolesville has what is described as one of the best parks systems in the state of Maryland. There are currently eight town owned and maintained parks, and a Montgomery County swimming pool facility, within the town limits.
Whalen Commons: 3.2 Acres
- Location: Fisher Avenue between Milford Mill Road and Fyffe Road.
- Facilities: Gazebo, walking path and open space.
Halmos Park: 15 Acres
- Location: Running along the southern edge of Bodmer Avenue from Hoskinson Road to Hughes Road.
- Facilities: Tennis courts, basketball court, baseball fields, softball field, soccer/football field, jogging trail, 2 parking lots, concession stand, pavilion, picnic tables, grills and bathrooms.
L.M. Stevens Park: 7.5 Acres
- Location: Off Seneca Chase Park Road in the Seneca Chase Subdivision.
- Facilities: Soccer field, tennis courts, basketball court, playground, baseball field, jogging trail, concession stand, 40 car parking lot, picnic tables, pavilion and tot lot.
Brooks Park: 1 Acre
- Location: Just off Wootton Avenue at the south end of the Wesmond townhouses.
- Facilities: Tot lot.
Collier Circle Park: 4 Acres
- Location: Between Collier and Dowden Circles. Abuts Dry Seneca Creek.
- Facilities: Open space and fishing pond.
Campbell Park: 2 Acres
- Location: On the south corner of Wootton and Fisher Avenues. Part of the park runs behind several homes located on Wootton Avenue.
- Facilities: Open space with walkway.
Westerly Avenue: 1/2 Acre
- Location: On the south corner of Westerly Avenue at its intersection with West Willard Road.
- Facilities: Open space.
West Willard Road: 3.79 Acres
- Location: On the North corner of Westerly Avenue at its intersection with West Willard Road.
- Facilities: Practice soccer field
Old Methodist Church Grounds: 1 Acre
- Location: Property surrounding the Old Methodist Church
- Facilities: Historic cemetery.
Lori Gore Park: 6,794 square foot
- Location: McKernon Way
- Facilities: Tot lot.
Bodmer Park: 1 Acre
- Location: Abutting Halmos Park on the south and Bodmer Avenue on the north.
- Facilities: Tot lot.
Wootton Heights: 1/2 Acre
- Location: Abutting Wootton Heights Townhouses.
- Facilities: Tot lot.
County Swimming Pool:
- Location: North side of Fisher Avenue heading west from the Town Center.
- Facilities: Lap pool, recreation pool, kiddy pool, bathhouse, etc.
There are also a number of public recreational facilities and parks within the region immediately surrounding the Town. These include Owens Park in Beallsville, which has a softball field, three tennis courts, a tot lot and a multipurpose recreation building; the Poolesville Public golf Course and Club, which has a public golf course, two tennis courts, meeting facilities, a picnic pavilion and soccer field; and the elementary and high schools, which together have four softball/baseball fields, three soccer fields, a football field and track facility. |
