Poolesville's Friday on the Commons combines an old-fashioned Farmers’ Market with outstanding entertainment in a small town get together held every Friday at Whalen Commons in Poolesville, Maryland, in the heart of Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve.
Relax with Family & Friends
Friday on the Commons is a wonderful place to relax on Friday evening with family and friends. You can stop by for locally grown produce, fruits, cheese, and meats. Enjoy fresh baked goods. Pick up some handmade soap. Buy some locally made arts and crafts. Our music is world class, and each Friday on the Commons event is super fun and entertaining.
Dinner on the Commons
Make an evening of it! Bring your lawn chairs and Frisbees and have dinner on the Commons, or after you’ve done your shopping, stop by one of Poolesville’s many fine restaurants for dinner or drinks.

Kickoff Event-Summer Carnival - 4:30 pm
June 14th - Marks the kickoff of Friday on the Commons! Attend our Summer Carnival and you'll have a blast while supporting the Poolesville Elementary School PTA. The Commons will be jam packed with kids rides, food & artisan vendors, and kids entertainment!We'll end the evening with our first movie - Mary Poppins Returns at 8:30 pm!
Bark in the Park - 6:00 pm
June 21st - Sees the return of our wildly popular and entertaining Bark in the Park, Cute Dog Contest. You’ll definitely feel the energy and excitement at this event. DJ Val provides all the tunes! - Rescue groups are invited to participate. Mutts Gone Nuts Comedy Show kicks off the night at 6:30 - Cutest Dog Contest 7:30, followed by Musical Chairs for dogs at 8:30 pm - Registration is from 6:00 to 7:00.-Kids inflatables and activities, farmers market and Food TrucksRed, White, & Brews - 6:00 pm
June 28th - We're feeling a bit patriotic! Join us in our beer & wine garden, we'll be serving up reds & whites, along with Barley & Hops brews! We'll have kids inflatables and activities, farmers market and Food Trucks! Local Singer/Songwriter Brian Harris will be playing tunes under the tent from 6:00 - 8:00 and the bandshell will be rocking to the sounds of the 19th Street Band from 8:00 - 10:00 pm - You don't want to miss it. Just Beachy

July 12th - Let's beat the heat - Water slides, water balloons, inflatables, ice cube melting contests, beach volleyball and a messy Foam Dance Party (bring your bathing suit). We'll finish off the evening by showing Teen Beach Movie on the big screen at 8:30 pm! Wine Down In The Park - 6:00 pm
July 26th - Under the tent is where you'll find a variety of great wines and cool sounds brought to you by Mark Puryear ~ Jay Summerour~ Eric Selby from 6 - 8 pm! We'll also have kids inflatables, a farmers market, and food trucks. We'll end the evening with Gina's Soul Party & The Souled Out Horns on the bandshell from 8:00 to 10:00 pm. Small Town Throwdown! - 6:00 pm
August 2nd - Just a small town Friday night with Bluegrass and Beer! Ernie Bradley & The Grassy Ridge Band will be under the tent from 6:00 -8:00 pm - We'll also have kids inflatables, petting zoo, barnyard olympics and more - The bandshell will come alive to the sounds of Colebrook Road serving up traditional bluegrass with a modern twist.

August 23rd - Join us on the Commons for our last Hurrah - Think all things 80's: Roller Skating, Pac Man, Hackey Sack, etc. Bring your big hair and join us for Goonies on the big screen at 8:30 pm!Contact with Consumers
This is a great place to meet directly with your consumers. In 2018, our markets attracted between 300 and 500 people. Parking is easy, our fees our low, and our events are fun!Vendor Letter
