The committee is tasked with the following duties:
Develop and make recommendations to the Commissioners of Poolesville of measures which can be implemented to ensure the survival and success of existing businesses in Town.
Assistance to the town government in the development of tourism and heritage programs.
Develop, market, staff and execute approved community events, festivals and programs, and make budget recommendations to the Commissioners of Poolesville for such activities, and any other matters related to the Town’s business community.
Develop strategies for promotion of the town to prospective businesses and to prospective customers and visitors.
Assist the Town in obtaining grants and funding from county, state or federal sources to promote the purpose of the Committee.
Act as a liaison between the Town Government and the business community.
Community & Economic Development Committee The Community and Economic Development Committee (CEDC) is composed of 9 members. Three resident members, 3 business members and 3 town government members. The town's event coordinator assist the CEDC as a non-voting participant. Members are volunteers and are appointed for 1 year.
